Letter to Parents from Graham Parker, Chair of Trustees

24 March 2022
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this finds you well.
As chair of the Board of Trustees which oversees the quality of education provided at your child's academy, I wanted to give you some important updates. I am pleased to say that it is all good news!
I would like to start by thanking parents and carers for their support during the very challenging times of the pandemic. I am sure you would want to join with me in expressing our appreciation to all the staff within the Trust, especially in such challenging times.
I am delighted to inform you that the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA) has decided the governance, the strategy and the finance practices of the Trust are in good order. This means they are confident in the Board's oversight of the Trust and its seven academies; they are confident in the strategy that has been introduced to continue to improve our academies even more and they are confident in the way in which we use the public money to provide the best possible education for the children.
Alongside this, I am also delighted to inform you of the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the Trust Mr Pete Weir. I am sure you will wish Mr Weir well as he takes up this new post.
We are committed to communicating with parents and carers, receiving your comments and ideas, and working with you for the best outcomes for the children. Some of our academies still need more parental representation on the Academy Advisory Boards. Please contact your child's school if this interests you.
Our academies will regularly send out surveys, please complete these if you get an opportunity as the outcomes of the surveys are used for future planning. Thank you to all of you who have completed these.
These are exciting times for Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust. I look forward to working with parents and carers in continuing to make our academies even better.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Graham Parker
Chair of the Board of Trustees
